Troubleshooting - Top Support Issues

I can't find my activation code.
Your activation code is the same as your serial number. It appears (in the form XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) on the invoice page when you complete your Raybook purchase and in the confirmation email you received. If you can't locate your serial number, contact Raybook Support at support@raybook.com.

My activation code does not work.
First, make sure you are connected to the internet. Activation will not work unless you have an internet connection. Make sure that you are transcribing your serial number correctly. If you are not able to click the "Okay" button because it is grayed out, usually there is an error in transcribing the serial number.

I can't find my Raybook on my iPod.
First, make sure you are looking in the right section of your iPod. Some Raybooks are accessed from the "Photos" section of your iPod, while others can be found by going to "Extras" -> "Notes" from the iPod main menu. Next, make sure you eject your iPod from iTunes or the Raybook Manager, and do not disconnect it until the "Do Not Disconnect" message disappears from the screen.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why isn't the Raybook Manager finding my iPod?
First, make sure that your iPod is enabled for disk use as described above. If this does not work, you may want to try disconnecting any thumb drives or other peripheral devices before running the installer program.

How do I get back to the main menu when I'm in the Notes section?
You can use the "menu" button to step back through the items you have just viewed until you reach the main menu. Alternately, you can click and hold the "menu" button to return to the main iPod menu.

How do I select a link in the Notes section?
You can navigate to any underlined word or phrase by using the iPod scroll wheel. Clicking the center button will follow the link.

Can I use Raybook products on my Photo iPod, black and white iPod or my iPod Shuffle?
Older iPods and iPod Shuffles are not supported.

Can I use Raybook products on my iPhone or iPod touch?
The iPhone and iPod touch are currently not supported but we are working on support for all Raybook products.

What does "Notes Loading" on my iPod mean and why does it take so long?
When you first use your iPod after synching it with iTunes, you may see a message that says "Notes Loading." This happens because your iPod is indexing all of your notes and making sure they are updated. It may take a minute or two for this process to finish.

Can I still put my own notes in my iPod?
Your iPod can support up to 1000 notes. Depending on how many Raybook products, or other software that uses notes you have on your iPod, you may have room for your own notes.

Can I get other books for my iPod from Raybook?
Raybook will be offering a wide variety of study, travel, reference, culinary, nature and dining guides for your iPod very soon.
